B&B La Fossa is located in the province of Reggio Emilia, in the Apennine Mountains. Surrounded by a protected natural area, the property offers stunning panoramic views of the wooded valley below. It’s the perfect place to get away from it all and enjoy the beauty of nature.
La Fossa is a collection of three antique Italian farmhouses. We offer bed and breakfast accommodations in two of the houses, while the third is where we (your hosts) reside. Each house is unique and has its own charm, providing a one-of-a-kind experience.
In the morning, we will provide you with home-baked bread from our wood oven, as well as home-made jams, pastries and honey from our bees. You can decide for yourself when to have breakfast and enjoy it at your leisure.
Our guests love spending a few days relaxing in our secluded oasis in the woods. They often go on walks through the valley, where they can admire the changing seasons and discover natural wonders. Foodies will be pleasantly surprised by the delicious, traditional cuisine served at the excellent restaurants within walking distance. Those interested in culture and history can visit the nearby castles of Matilde of Canossa, or explore the nearby cities of Parma and Reggio Emilia. On hot summer days, guests can also cool off by swimming in the nearby Enza river. In the nearby town of Castelnovo ne’ Monti, visitors can see the majestic Pietra di Bismantova mountain.
The big B&B house is full of authentic charm, with its many old stoves and a spacious bathroom. It has two bedrooms and can accommodate 2-5 people. When you book the house, you have it completely to yourself, even though the rate is per person. It’s the perfect choice for a cozy and intimate getaway.

The independent house is the epitome of romance. From the comfort of your bed, you can enjoy breathtaking views of the forests and mountains. The house has two interconnected bedrooms and a bathroom with colorful mosaics. It is equipped with a small fridge, microwave, and mini electric stove for making coffee or tea. The house can accommodate 2-4 people, making it perfect for couples or families with children. It’s the perfect place for a romantic getaway or a cozy family vacation.

The outdoor space offers plenty of opportunities to relax and unwind. Both houses have outdoor areas with deck chairs, tables for outdoor dining, hammocks, and various corners with benches and sofas. Each house has its own private bathroom, and both have wifi internet access. You’ll find plenty of comfortable spots to sit and enjoy the natural surroundings.
Your hosts at La Fossa are Tatiana, an Italian, and Marc, a Dutch national. They have been running the property since 2007 and are joined by their daughter Joséphine, who was born in 2011. Together, they will make sure you have a comfortable and enjoyable stay.
